    Pointless question?? Just wanted to clarify if this engine was oil specific as some car engines are these days by way of brand name. Of course I always use fully synthetic anyway, that goes without saying. Thanks to the rest of the replies - I shall continue using Castrol Magnates 5w30 fully synthetic ...

    With car engines being very oil specific these days please advise what oil I should use in my yr 2003 Impreza WRX STi. I know its a 5w30 but what make am I supposed to be using?
