  1. Hello. I'm a new member and wanted to introduce myself to the list. My name is Michael, and I live and work in Kalamazoo, Michigan. From 9am to 5pm, I work with web servers (computer stuff). After that, I....I....don't really know what I do with my time really, aside from watching silly car shows on cable at a friend's house. I realized that shows like Tuner Television, Rides, Two Guys Garage, Truckin', Extreme 4x4, etc. (you get the picture) are nothing but a bunch of ads. So much for watching tv. I joined this list because I purchased my very first Subaru in November of 2004. My buddy owns a 1976 Chevy Nova and told me discussion forums like Ultimate Subaru is a good way to meet people who love what they drive and to learn more about my car...anyway...I was talking about my car. Here's my ride: 1989 Subaru Justy GL, 2-wheel drive Automatic with a transmission with a funny name - ECVT 3-cylinder, 2-bbl carburetor (the cutest little carb I've ever seen) Paint: Factory metallic light blue Everything is stock For my first Subaru, I really like this little car. I mean it's comfortable to drive. The seats are all at the right angles. No blind spots, although there's only one outside mirror (driver's side). It's great on gas and the transmission with the funny name is pretty amazing--it constantly adjusts itself to my lead foot. Must be through a series of intricate, complicated vacuumm lines or something. One more thing I like is Subaru included a tachometer on an automatic vehicle which his way cool because I couldn't figure out how to hook up my old tachometer (the type with a black and red lead) to the Justy's distributor....so I just used the onboard tachometer instead. There are a number of Subaru groups around the country. I noticed many are located in the Pacific Northwest. I've always enjoyed my trips to Oregon, Seattle, and Alaska. Great places to live, minus the traffic and high cost of living, especially in Seattle. Any Subaru Clubs in Michigan? --Michael
