It was in park when I attached the cable. On the 97 trans it had a different selector on the trans with different wire/connector setup so took the metal one off and I switched the plastic one from my bad trans onto it. The AT Temp light isn't blinking, its just on. Its hard to push the button on the shifter. So I guess I'll see what kind of adjustments I can make?

I put the auto trans from a 97 legacy into a 98 legacy and now it wont start. Starter doesnt even try. I noticed some of the wiring is a little different but things seemed to all fit. (my first subaru) WHAT AM I MISSING?!?!?!? also my AT fluid temp light is on for some reason now?

Will it work? Whats the difference between the two transmissions(speedo, torque convertor, final drive) Both are 2.2s.
