  1. 88 DL over heats

    hey yall, my 88 DL temp is pushing into the red. did the thermostat, water pump and timing belt while i was in there. system is now holding coolant, but still runs hot. I noticed the electric fan was never on so i jumped it to the battery and the fan runs. some research indicates the thermoswitch may be the culprit. my chilton says have the switch checked at the dealer but the kids down there dont seem to know or care what it is. my question is, how to test the thermoswitch my self, and might there be a relay or anything else preventing the fan from coming on. thanks
