    Forgot to mention that the problem with the original was bad valves, plus it was burning oil, so I'm assuming the whole engine needs a rebuild.

    I have a 2001 outback, 2.5, manual, 188K, the engine went out. I found a good deal on a 2002 Impreza WRX 2.5 DOHC, it has the turbo heads and manifold, but no turbo. The guy I bought it from said they are basically the same engine and a swap would be no problem. Like an idiot I believed him. Took out the old one, went to put it in and realized it isn't going to work. Any suggestions or ideas ? Otherwise, I have a great motor with a warranty for sale. thanks
