  1. Well for the update! I was having trouble with the bowl float in the craptachi after rebuilding it And doing the mechanical secondary conversion, I couldn't resist and I ended up doing the weber swap!!!! The weber is amazing on my ea82! And so easy with loyale 2.7's write up. Thanks for that! The car is running great I ended up doin the weber swap, new plugs and wires, new distributor cap and rotor, deleting the EGR and all the vacuum lines, oil and filter change. I highly recommend the weber! Thanks everybody for the info!
  2. Well i got rid of the emission crap, the hoses and did the direct secondary. I am also having a hell of a time getting this carb tuned back up to where it will stay running. If I hold and then feather the choke valve it will run for a while at pretty high rpms then dies. Does anyone know of a "ground zero" to where I can start from? Maybe I should start with putting the secondary back to vacuum actuated? Any help is greatly appreciated so I can get my only car back going!
  3. Right on fellas, thanks for the info! Luckily I have no emission laws around here to speak of so I'm going with the above quote on removing the vac line mess. The carburetor is still in good shape so I'm going for it, shelling did you leave the too small bowl vent hose 2-3 feet long or 2-3 inches long? And thanks for the advice on waiting to do the secondary conversion!
  4. Or would you recommend just following your write up about the weber swap for removing the old vac lines after I do the mechanical conversion on my craptachi?
  5. Thanks loyale 2.7 turbo, That helps a lot! Would you recommend the quote above about removing all the vac lines or is it a bunch of BS?
  6. So how did it turn out fish boy? Did you have to convert it to a mechanical secondary?
  7. I ended up leaving the solenoid sand just plugging the vac hoses Coming off the EGR with old bolts and hose clamps. Thanks for the info! Does anyone have any more ideas on basic modifications to help out this ea82?
  8. Hey, I'm new to the the site and a newly proud owner of a 86 wagon GL with a original ea82 in it! Can anyone give me some more info on deleting the EGR system?
