  1. you should go back and read Qman's post more closely.

You have an open rear diff but a locked center diff

this is what is causing the jumping,

    NOT the rear diff.

You brothers truck no doubt has an open center differential.

o ok thanks for clearing that up:)

i also lifted the rear up and yea the other wheel spun the opposite way to wat i was spinnning the other way, thanks guys yet again:)

  2. yep i no about the jack the entire rear off the ground and if the opposite wheel spins its lsd ill check the tag now

k i checked the tag didnt say lsd on the tag the gear ratio was 3.9 so im guessing it is a lsd, i just dont think it is tho because ive never seen a lsd work like that my bro has a ford with lsd in the rear and it doesnt do that the diff in the suby is working more like a diff lock

  3. my diff in me 85 gl 4wd d/r looks like it has a locked diff in the rear when i turn on the drive way i can hear it jumping on the innner wheel that i am turning i put one side on the jack and put it in 4wd and i could only turn the wheel a few inches then it would start driving the other side, so do these have locked diff

  4. well i just put the back of the car on the ramps to righten the handbrake up hmm cant find the cable, looked up followed the cable it went to the front hmm weird cant be handbrake on the front wheel lifted up the front and yep it was weird never seen that before, bugger i cant do handbrakeys:( anyone got any ideas for rear braking
