  1. Thanks. Yes it has CVT and the terrain is relatively flat with some minor inclines. You think this would cause 4000rpm? This just seems really high to me.
  2. I have a 2014 Outback Premium. It is common for RPMs to be a little higher at startup but I'm experiencing very high RPMs after starting the car and driving it for a couple miles. At about 40 mph my car was up tp 4000 rpm and it takes about 3 miles of driving for it to drop to normal levels (and no I'm not flooring the pedal at all). I brought it to the dealer and they said it's normal but it just doesn't seem right. 4000 RPMs is abnormally high in my book. Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone have any thoughts on the cause? Thanks in advance.
  3. Thanks everyone. If I go with a 2012-ish model do you think I should consider getting an extended Subaru warranty for it or would that be a waste of money?
  4. Hi everyone, I'm considering a used Outback Premium 2.5 around the 2012 model year versus a brand new 2015 model. I'm looking at a used model to save some money. Are there any known issues with the 2011-2013 model year Premium 2.5's that a potential buyer should take into consideration ? Any opinions on going with a 2015 versus a 2012 to save money? What would be a fair ballpark price for a 2012 premium 2.5i? KBB says between $18k and $20k. Thanks in advance for any insight.
