    Hi Thanks for responding. The light blinks at startup 16 times and hasn't come on while driving at all. I did attempt the handshack procedure with no results and was wondering if it works only with certain models. Is the 16 blinks a code and how can I find out if it is critical at this point or can we drive the car and have it looked at later. Someone posted that this indicates a problem with the torque converter. Is this true? Thx

    our 1998 Legacy. The owners manual states that the system my not be working properly. How critical is this warning? Any suggestions would be apprieciated. Thx Zingo(A new member)
