no, the light is always on, only the image in the light changes. When someone's in the seat I think there's an X on it or something. I don't want to deactivate the sensor, just the light. It seems like a very unnecessary feature seeing as only people with kids need it and even then, can't you just remember the weight limit on the seat? Maybe I just don't fully understand it's purpose.
