  1. I took ownership of a 97 outback yesterday and the only think I have found that doesn't work is the Cruise Control. The light on the dash goes on but the Cruise doesn't engage. Does anyone have any tips on this type of problem. Thanks, Bill
  2. Hello, I took over ownership of my wives uncles 97 Outback yesterday and so far so good. And to this point the reports I had received of its poor mechanical condition seem greatly over stated. This is car has 43,000 original miles on it and up until last year it was regularly maintained. The last 12 mo. it has lived a difficult life of a short stint of heavy abuse followed by none use. I purchased it for a good price hopefully it will be a good reliable car. After picking it up I promptly gave it the fully test. Since we ran into a heavy road covering snow storm during the final 50 miles of our 200 mile trip home from PA last night. My fingers are crossed, I'm really a loyal Honda man.
