2008 legacy outback trans temp light on p1707
overn replied to overn's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXWow thanks for the quick response. It's the 2.5l auto. I'm guessing it's the 5 speed auto if im not mistaken. Any direction on a valve body reman? I guess I'll check eBay and I'll confirm tomorrow exact transmission. So the 4 speed autos are a fairly easy soleniod replacement. Thanks.

2008 legacy outback trans temp light on p1707
hi all, fairly new here. ive got a at trans temp light on. code is p1707. car runs, drives and shift fine. my mechanic went through the entire mitchell procedure and everything checked out ok. last option in mitchell was replace valve body. seems kind of drastic for a car with no shifting problems. wondering if a sensor is the cause. cant seem to find anything in google or any subaru forums. any hepl would be great..car has 104k if that makes a difference

1st gen windshield and back glass gaskets needed
Hi all. I've got my 79 wagon all dialed in. Found a windshield locally in phoenix as for $220 new. But the glass guy can't get the rubber gasket that goes around the glass. The other killer is, I would like to replace the gasket around the back window. Does anyone know where the rubber may be able to be purchase new? Did find precision restoration on line but no back glass gasket and no chrome/locking strip for front or rear. Short of checking eBay every day, anyone known to be sitting on a pile of the stuff.that was a joke. Any help would be great

Got it going real good. Little sea foam and the valve must have unstuck.

That's what the mechanic thinks. Many have been meaning toward choke setting issues. Mechanic says that's been done. Doing some oil and fuel treatments to see if it helps. The lack of ingitioncontol modules availibile leads me to believe these aren't the issue. Thank you for you reponse

hi all. new to the forum. been having a 79 wagon worked on. been sitting for i'm guessing 10 years or more. so far put in a reman distributor, had carb rebuilt and new coil. back fires for a while after starting. mostly if i let it sit over night, it will back fire for about 20 min then runs perfect. my mechanic buddy believes its the ignitor/ignition control module. cant seem to find one anywhere part number 429602000. wondered if anyone agrees that this may be the problem and where i might be able to find a good used or new one. thanks louis
