  1. how to remove a headlight bulb?

    Vehicle: 1998 Subaru Forester Problem: Left headlight bulb is burnt out. Works OK on high beam but not on low beam. Action thus far: The power cord is disconnected, revealing the three prongs of the old bulb. At this point the directions read: "...remove retainer ring, then bulb." I can't see the retainer ring. Everything is covered by a rubber diaphragm (which presumably protects the back of the headlight assembly from moisture). Questions: 1. Must the rubber diaphragm be removed to access the retainer ring?
