  2. Hi, Im new to the site, but I am really in need of some advice from folks who know their Subarus! I have a 1986 Subaru GL, 1.6, carb. and it has developed a problem. It started a couple of months ago. My husband would drive it to work early in the morning when it was cool, and would make it there fine. However on his way home in the heat of the day it would stall out about 10 minutes into the drive. If you let it sit for about 45 minutes it would start again. My hubby is NOT mechanical, so with a book and advice and process of elimination I have done the following.. Tried to rule out vapor lock- replaced fuel filter, seperator, and fuel pump replaced igniton coil replaced plugs, wires, rotor and distrib. cap. It is still doing it. I have been told it may be a sensor, but can't find an engine cooling sensor if there is one. Any ideas are appreciated. Mechanic isn't in the budget and we are down to one car now. Thanks!
