I have a 2013 Impreza that I bought new just about 3 years ago. Last winter the remote starter stopped working and I haven't given it much thought until now that the cold weather is back. This was the OEM unit installed prior to us even looking at the car new.
I tried doing some troubleshooting today. I checked both fuses and they were ok, unplugged the module waited and plugged it back in, and still nothing. When I press the FOB button twice it flashes back two long flashes indicating it is too far away, even though I am in or near the car. I do not hear any clicks and no lights turn on in the car. Could the antenna be faulty? I check the plug on either end and it seems fine. I hate to put too much money into this remote starter if it cannot be repaired, I would rather just buy a new aftermarket one, but this is an easy fix I do not mind going this route.
I tried reprograming the remotes and they did not respond, telling me the car is not getting a signal at all.
Any help appreciated!
