  1. Thank you very much for your reply, I ended up getting it out with some persistence with the pry bar and a hammer as you suggested. Your reply told me I wasn't necessarily doing anything wrong....just needed to try some additional ways of applying force. Now got the new one in -n that was kind of difficult to fit in also, but I managed. The repair was prompted by substantial vibration. A friend took a look and told me it was my CV axle breaking. Vibrations are gone now, so this appears to have fixed the problem. I really appreciate your help, this is actually the first repair I've done myself and am amazed I got it done! Yay Google and on-line forums!
  2. Trying to replace my front passenger side CV axle. The old one broke while removing, and there is a piece remaining on the end that goes into the motor - I can't figure how to get it out. I have the new one, and I can see it is held in place with a c-clip (I think that's what it's called....it's a thing c-shaped ring that fits into a groove on the end of the axle. I've tried using a pry bar on the top to force it out, but no luck. Any advice or tricks on how to remove the remaining piece of the old axle? Pictures show view from the level of the wheel looking in, and then from top down through the hood.
