I had a 84 gl wagon 4wd with manual trans that went to the junk yard. Would those front hubs fit/work onto the front of a 92 loyale 2wd w/ manual trans.

I have a 92 loyale 140 miles with 5 speed and the original(assuming) clutch cable broke and I had replaced it with a pioneer part#ca459 cable. after replacement the pedal felt normal until about 3 weeks later and the new cable broke. I tried rigging a different cable system up to it so could get by till another cable got shipped to me but when got rigged up i couldn't pull the fork far enough to shift with my hand. how much is the fork supposed to move from engaged to disengaged? why would I break the cable so quickly?

How do I check which vin number I have for getting parts? They ask for vin 4 or 5 and not sure how to tell on my vin number.
