  1. My 86 gl-10 turbo has a hard time getting up to temp. When it does it only stays there for a short time. What I mean by this is I have a digital gauge and the temp reading will just go to the warm mark before it will drop totally off. The heat will not blow out hot air, bearly warm. The car runs great but seems to never run at temp always cool. It seems as though it is the thermostat but when I drive it when it is wam outside the car will run at temp andthe heater blow out somewhat hot air. What do you guys think. Coolant is full btw. thanks

  2. I Was Told My Flywheel Was No Good. My Dilemma Is Which New Flywheel To Get? Xt Or Stock? Car Is A 86 Gl-10 Turbo S/w 5sp Push Button 4wd. What Are The Advantages Of One Over The Other , And What Is The Price Differance That I Should Expect To See. Performance Is Not A Necissity But Would Be Nice If Not To Much $$. Thanks For All The Help As I Am Trying To Get This Car In Shape To Drive As I Just Bought It And Had To Trailer It Home Because The Clutch Was Fried And It Needed Cv's.

  3. I pulled the motor to replace the clutch and thought I would check out the motor for anything else that might need to be replaced. I saw a cover on the back of the motor to the right of the rear main seal (when looking at the motor from the back ) that had approx 6 10mm bolts holding it on it lookad as though it was leaking oil from there what is behind the cover? None of the manuals show what it is. Also are there any other problematic areas that I should address at this time? I am going to replace the timing belt as I do not know when it was last done.

  4. This is my first subaru and so I don't know anything about them other than they are great cars! I just picked up a 1986 GL-10 turbo. The previous owner states that there is something wrong with the shift on the fly. You need to come to a stop before engaging the 4wd and taking it out of 4wd. Is this true? Or is there a problem. I thought that you could just push the button and off you go in 4wd. If so do any of you have any knowledge of what to do to fix the problem. Thanks!!!
