OK, we need some more detailed picks of this conversion, Someone put a lot of work into this, it would be a shame to chop it up for parts. If it has a title or a past CT registration slip let me know. I'm very interested in this homebrew brat.....more pics please.

Yea now that I'm figuring out more what it is im definitely not gonna chop that one up. He does have the title. Maybe use the other one to get mine fixed up and get that one running. It's getting dropped off tomorrow so I'll follow up with more pics. The guy really didn't know much of anything about them when I talked to him. Can't wait to get into them.

  2. The five speed manual transmission Swap is a great thing, however, being working with the Rear differential only, is not a good idea; you can install the front axles to bring back the awesome 4WD capabilities and extend the transmission lifespan.

    Kind Regards.

Yea, I think I have everything I need to reinstall the front axles, I just need to find the tools/ skills, or a shop that can do it.

I'm in Bridgeport. Few other active members around CT.

Your house makes me think of the Berlin Kensington area. Are in in the middle of the state ?

And yes , nice Subarus !

No, I'm in Hamden actually, originally from Stratford, so not too far from you guys

  3. Welcome!

Beautiful Subarus, Love the Brown colour on the Brat.

The front Bumper on it came from another car, BMW?

    Kind Regards.

Yea I'm not sure what its off of, but it looks like it was red originally before they painted and mounted it. They also did the 5 speed swap, leaving it RWD only, and added in the jump seats later since its an 86. Gotta figure out what else has been done to it.

  4. Hey guys, new to the forum, not that new to subaru. I currently have a 2016 crosstrek 2.0i premium in venetian red, and just recently picked up a 1986 brat GL in lovely 80s mud brown(not the real subaru color name afaik). Got alot of little projects completed on both so far, and have a whole list that still needs to get done, so I will be scavenging these forums as much as i can for help. Looking forward to getting to join the community here! I'm from CT by the way. Best place to see pictures of my car is my insta, @the_nowhere_nomad
