WRX oil leak, and key remote replacement
Hi all, My 2004 WRX may have an oil leak. I can smell burning oil at the end of a drive, and there is a little bit of dark oil atop the engine, but the oil level does not drop. The oil atop the engine does not increase over time. Dealer says it's a leak and would cost a couple thousand $ to determine the source. Then more $ to fix the leak. Wouldn't a leak cause the oil level to drop over time? Not sure what to do. Also, my key remote for the same car had stopped working even with battery replacement and is now working only intermittently with the new battery. I think it needs replacement, yes?

engine oil leaks - 2004 WRX 67K miles
Hi subies, Found what looked like a small oil leak on top of my 2004 WRX's engine. Little bit oif oil pooled on engine top, both sides. I noticed a burning oil smell when driving and coming to a stop. Subaru dealer originally said it was rocker cover gaskets. But today, 3 weeks later, dealer says he'd have to do $2,000 worth of work just to find sources of leaks, including the valve covers, timing cover, seals intake manifold. He thought he saw oil leaking from those areas. And any leak repairs would add to the $2,000. I said I'd think about it. Another service writer at same dealership said he would just add some dye to the oil, then check engine a litttle later to see where the oil is leaking from. Much cheaper. I like my car and want to keep it. Anyone ever have an oil leak like this? Just looking for ssome advice at this point. Thanks.

Valve cover leaks on 2004 WRX
Hi. Looks like my 2004 WRX has sprung one or more oil leaks, most likely from valve covers. Anyone ever have this or similar problem and took it to repair shop / Dealer for repairs? I'm just trying to get a sense of what the repairs might cost me. Car is definitely losing oil a little bit at a time. Thanks a lot.

1997 Outback Fog lights wiring
Hi everybody. Tried to replace the passenger side fog light on my '97 Outback and found a wire connecting to the bulb holder was corroded and it broke apart. does anyone know the best way to fix this? Do I need a replacement harness? I've been looking around online for a wiring diagram that covers the fog lights but Haven't found one yet. Thanks a lot for any information.
