  1. A good friend of mine has a 93 legacy wagon with 178k. No major problems yet. The only problems its really had is wiper motor, starter, alt, froze hatch, tires.batt, and a door latch thats fell apart. Other than that just keep the oil changed and go. It had a problem with the transfer clutch banging when going around left or right turns, but after having the oil changed in it and driving it in sharp turns it quit banging . Dont know how long it will last but its not doing the banging anymore. Its like it never really had a problem. After being around this car its made me want to make my next car a subie. Im not telling you what im driving now, dont want to offend anyone.
  2. The clicking comes from the starter. Its an automatic. The battery terminals were coroded and i put new ones on , because i thought that what was wrong. Its not my car and i cant the girl to stop long enough to look at it. Maybe if i went to walmart i could work on it. LOL Im going to get my tester out and go over it again . Thanks for your help. Ill check back shes having more problems than that . The transfer clutch was banging when she went Left or right. I read in one the forums that if you went around slowly right and left it would free it up. It worked ,now i wonder how long it will last? Subarus are tough. We drove to Florida and back to Ohio with it banging. Pulling a Uhaul
  3. Hi to everyone. Glad to have found this site. Having a problem with 1993 subaru legacy wagon starting. Sometimes the starter just clickes , like its not engageing into flywheel. If you keep clicking the ignition key it will start. The battery test ok. Had a new starter put on and it does the same thing. Is there a starter relay on it. I can not figure out where its at. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
