The guy I bought it from had the carb rebuilt. I figure it was unplugged then and never got it back on.

The vacuum line was connected at the modulator and the steel line but it was not connected on the other end near the carb.

Well I got it shifting now. The vacuum hose for the modulator valve has disconnected from the carb end. I did not find the original location after looking for a while so I connected it to a tee that had a cap on one side.It is probably not the correct location but I did not find a connection for it. It shifts smoothly all the way to third. It downshifts when I step on the accelerator. The carb does sputter some now.

I came home from work and added fluid. It seemed help the hard shift but still no third. I will continue working on it.

Just purchased the Brat last Friday. My wife wanted something to use to get horse feed because my 99 silverado is to big for her ( she being only 4' 11 inch tall ) but she really likes it so far. I just need to do alittle maintinance on it.

I have a 2016 limited and use Samsung s5 phone with at&t. I rarely get emails but mine will read the email to me. My wife has 2016 forester and uses windows phone. The cortana assistant on her phone will read the emails and let you reply back to text messages.

Not sure when the last oil change was but the oil doesn't look to bad. It is not a turbo. Where is the governor located. The oil is low when I check it with engine running with it in drive.

I just purchased a 1984 brat that runs pretty good. The issue I am having is that it shifts from 1st to second really hard but will not shift up to 3rd.
