And I'm not sure if anyone has made exhaust systems to sell for the swap either?

Thanks Uberoo. What about pre-made/ modified harnesses, flywheel, and adapter plates for trans? I've seen forums from a couple years ago where they were making them but does anybody still make and sell them?

I was talking about having the shaved off a little bit on the surface.

What about having the heads milled and worked some by a machine shop? Wouldn't that help some?

I know this is an old post but has anyone swapped heads on an ea82? With something like ej heads?

Can the ej22 be done in a weekend? If I had all the parts on hand? And an already stripped harness? I'm an experienced mechanic and have done engine swaps before just never done anything on subarus

Thanks for the replies everyone. This is a daily so it can't be down for too long. That being said is there a way to get decent power out of an ea82? I haven't seen many topics about that

I just got an 89 dl and was wondering if anyone has done engine swaps in these? The ea82 in it is old and ticking its way to blowing up lol. Thinking of ej22 or maybe a newer gen swap if possible. Don't wanna break the bank but I know it takes money so looking for functional and as cost efficient as possible. Also if like to see some pics of cars people have done please.
