  3. Hello everyone. Am hoping to find some insight to my problem here. I have a 2001 Subaru Outback limited with the 2.5 engine. About a week ago I was driving home from work got onto the freeway and the car just died. Had it towed home and it has been a no start ever since. What I know. Timing belt is intact and under tension. The vehicle also has fuel being supplied to and from the filter. Also it is providing spark to the cylinders. Yet it is a no start. Have had an OBDII scanner hooked up and the only code that I am able to get it to admit to is P0420. My question is can the P0420 cause a no start situation? Any help or insight into this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
