    Engine light was on. Bought new in early 2009, it had been the dealers test drive Forester. 2008 with 48,000 miles. Well maintained, I have all of the records. Took it to a dealer in Tyler. They saved the old parts for me and showed me where the cracks were. They told me that is problem is common in this configuration: 2006s to 2008s. All fixed now. Thank you for your reply.

    Are cracked gas tank vent valves a major problem for Subarus? My Forester has 42,000 miles. I have never heard of this being a problem for ANY car. Any knowledge would be helpful. Thank you.
