What I did, was went to NAPA and got the two largest toggle switches, and the largest spring push button. I mouted then up under the left of the sterring wheel where that little "tray" is to put things. one switch runs the ignition, the other the accessorys,  the push button starts the engine. I wasn't gunna pay the money for a new one.  I love it.  if some one does steel it it will take some time for them to figure it out.  I do have the key so can lock the doors.  hope that helps

Pretty much what my plan was until I can find a part out and snag a ignition.

  2. Lost my keys out wheeling and didnt have a spare for the gl. Punched out the ignition so I can drive it to work. they wanted close to 200 to cut a key and it was hard to do that since thats what I paid for the car. Cant seem to find a new cylinder other than legacy ones. Theres a few on ebay labeled as datsun/Subaru ones that I'm not too sure about. Curious if other subaru ones will work or if anyone has a lead on one.

All this screwing around..... can you just work some extra hours at your job and buy a Weber? Would be more efficient. You can do a Weber for like $250. That's really cheap.

Figured it out right after that. Ended up the float was a couple mm off. I just really don't wanna spend the money on another carb when I can pick up a ej22 for a little more. Main reason why I stopped looking for webers.

  4. Got a junkyard carb since mine was missing a few things. Wasnt getting fuel So I cleaned the filter in the carb above the needle float and it fixed it. After that it was getting too much fuel and leaking out of the diagonal port coming from the bowl and somewhere above the secondary. Put a new needle in and it slowed it down and it doesn't seem to leak around the needle. Any ideas? And yes I know, get a weber lol

    Definitely factory fog lights.

The problem with using these switch panels is that you need the switch button or mod the blank that’s there so you can actually push the button and have it return back again. I tried it for my driving lights but it didn’t work out very well.

I ended up going the easier route - used aftermarket toggle switches ;)

I put my cruise control panel on there - but I modded one of the blanks to mount the panel on, so that’s neatly mounted and the button pushed into the panel. Looks real neat.

That's what i was figuring last night, I thought I had some left over buttons from a parts dash I could use but I guess I tossed them. Figured i could find some toggles that would look good on the blanks and save me another headache.

There are no guts behind them.  Maybe take spares from other ones but lots of work moddling things.  Assuming the upper left and right EA82 style buttons.

That's what my thoughts were. I have a parts dash and figured I might be able to use some of the buttons off that  since i only have the rear defroster on the left side.

post a picture of your dash so we know what model and what your vehicle is even equipped with, and we might be able to tell you a few things we've attached on ours,

i used the blank next to the wipers on the EA82 as my switch for my 4wd since the one on the shifter rattled around when i was on the highway and eventually went out,

right bottom blank is for cruise control, left bottom blank is for choke mechanisms for 3rd world countries, left rectangular small blank is for foglights, which i used as offroading lights attached all around the wagon, just use a relay, not sure how well built the oem switches on the inside even are.

86 gl. I dont have any pictures of it right now. I was thinking of the blanks on the left side of the cluster. Not sure if those are the ones you were talking about?
