Well I ordered the junkyard part for now. I did make an inquiry about having one built for it. I bet it's not the first request for this they've had.

These EA81s must be low friction. I never even overheated. Got close to the red but each time the thermo would open and it coooled off. I noticed because the heater stopped working. Anyway, engine is fine, but now I definitely need a radiator. I'm nervous about wrecking yards, do they check for stop leak? In any case it lists locally (the cheapest) for $270 and $125 out of town at Autozone. I'm of limited funds, so the so called "grade A" junkyard part for $50 seems a lot more affordable. Is it worth the risk?
Also, what all year and models have radiators that will fit? IIRC the EA82s were bigger and were part plastic (which I don't want)?

The passenger side of the carb is all greasy? Problems with PCV or? Never seen such a nasty greasy mess on a carb? Gonna hit it with degreaser tonight maybe, check the power.

Something super odd happened this morning; it was very cold, so I warmed the engine up a bit to get the heater going, but when I went to move it died. Then I couldn't get it to start at all unless I floored it, and it wouldn't really run till I reoved the air cleaner top, it still needed the pedal floored but I eventaully got it to rev up and run right after a second or two. I guess the old Hitachi is getting tired.
I'm assuming it has an enricher, not a choke? thinking it got stuck.
Anyway the carb looks complicated, but is it that bad to rebuild?
Unfortunately I think this might be my best option, but until I can, I got to get this Hitachi to get me by

Passenger side of carb or drivers? I'm intimidated by my otherwise nicely running Hitachi, lol

I set it about 800RPM but no matter what most of the time it ends up stuck at 1200? What's sticking and how can I fix it? This car needs hardly any warm up, engine runs beautifully except for that.

First the ancient pump died, but the replacement Edelbrock stopped pumping too. I think it may be one of the electrical relays that makes it only work when the engine is running, or the starter cranking. i don't have a Chilton, can anyone tell me where those are physically located on the car in case they need replacing? (1984 GL Wagon 4WD) Thanks.
