Here is what happened. I bought the correct transmission from Parts Market. A day later they replied that they did not have the part. Fortunately, I got my money back within 24 hours (buying through ebay probably helped). I am looking at another part from a auto wrecker in MI. See what happens. LarryK

Okay, enough constipation on making a decision. Rebuilding is out, valve body is too iffy for me. I will look for a used transmission with 80K or less on it and buy it. Thanks for the advice.

I have tried changing fluid by draining the pan, refill, drain, refill, about four times. Fluid looks good. No dents in pan.
I have found that driving in the Sport mode reduces/eliminates the slipping.
Is there a filter inside the transmission? If there is, I am considering having a shop pull the pan, change the filter and perform a complete fluid change. The suggestion of the valve body replacement (which I know nothing about at this time) might be a good idea. I will talk to the shop.
I am currently keeping an eye open for a 31000AH310 TV1B8MFEBA from a low mileage car that was well taken care of. With low miles (80K to 90K). If I find one at a good price I might just buy it "just in case".

I have been told that only the dealer can rebuild this type of transmission, maybe because of the VDC. Is this true? I want to drive this car for another 150K miles, so I try to get ahead of problems.
I believe that I have a ACT4, part number 31000AH310, the tag says TV1B8MFEBA, 959763, U5U6, it has SportShift.
Will other transmissions work? I have found units where only the last three digits of the part number are different.

Okay, I am showing my age. I had the car washed today and they turned on the parking switch that I never use.

Out of no where my parking lights stay on. Have everything turned off but they stay on. Am I just missing something?

It was the batteries. I use both remotes so this seems odd. Larry

Hello Hello,
New problem with my Gen 3. All of a sudden both of my remotes will not open the car. Any suggestions? I checked fuse 3 and it is good.

I appreciate it and am tempted to buy the scanner. The fact that moving the seat, stopping and starting the car makes the light go out every time makes me wonder. I had the flashing climate control lights and was being pointed to solder joints but just pulled the front cover off, sanded the four spots where the spring clamps touched, covered with dielectric grease and the problem was solved.

One was read at a Marlow Mercedes in Seaside and the other from an AutoZone store. I will pull the seat and see what is there.

Okay, I had the coders pulled without the light on and when it was on. No codes came. No stored codes either.

Do I have to wait for the airbag light to turn on or get it checked for codes now?

Hello Everyone
I have read older posts about this issue but I am wondering if there is some new information to fix this. Occasionally the airbag light comes on. I move the passenger seat a little, turn ignition off, turn it on and the light is out. I know that there are connectors under the seat. Do I need to replace the connectors? Before I pull the seat and start messing with it, Is there an easy fix? LarryK

I recently installed LED low beam lights. It immediately started having idle problems. I will follow the Subaru Idle Relearn Procedure: from brus brother and see if that fixes it. If not, I will look at the EGR valve.

First of all, I have received a full refund for Round 1.
I have ordered (and paid for) the correct trans from a wrecker in MI. It came off a 2008 Legacy Wagon that was recently totaled. 110K miles. Supposed to ship today........
