Is there a top and bottom to valve springs? I didn't notice any difference in the spacing of the top and bottom spirals. I own a 90 Legacy 2.2. These are stock valve springs. Thanks!

Do I need to put a sealant between the pump and the backing plate on oil pump? I will put loctite on the screws which hold on the plate. Thanks!

That is good to know when it is cold out. What is the easiest way to check speed sensor 2?

Hi Josh,
The car has an automatic transmission. Sometimes it would hold in third gear to long. That would happen only when car was first started. Then I noticed while turning right that the right back wheel wanted to drag around the corner. After all of this happen, then I got a flashing power light on dash after starting car. I checked the codes and that is when I got code 24 & 33.
Thanks,
Dan

I own a '90' Subaru Legacy. I checked the codes on the transmission. The Speed Sensor and Solenoid C codes appear. Is it possible if the Speed Sensor is bad that I would get a false code for the solenoid? What is the easiest way to check the Speed Sensor 2?
Thanks,
Dan

I own a 90 Subaru Legacy LS. I checked the codes on the transmission. The
error codes are 24 and 33 (Duty Solenoid C and Speed Sensor 2). Where do I find these on the transmission? Is there a website that I can get a pdf file with pictures to show location? Thanks, Dan

This is a 90 Subaru legacy 2.2 engine. One of the valve guides is about .125" lower than the rest. Should I be concerned? It was not burning oil before I took the head off to replace head gasket. I noticed it while installing new valve seals. It doesn't look look like it has ever moved, no marks on guide. I am thinking about letting it go. What are your thoughts?
