Hey there. New to the forum. Will a 4-speed and 2H/4H/2L (dual range) set up from a 1983 Subaru GL (I THINK EA81) bolt right into my 1982 Subaru Brat EA81 (that has just 2H/4H)? What I am probably most skeptical about is the shifting mechanisms that come into the cab. Same locations? No problems? Will all the mounting stuff be compatible on the frame/clutch/body, etc? Does anyone know? I know it's a lot to ask, but I am looking at a GL right now to buy it ONLY for the rebuilt tranny and Hi/Low transfer case. If it won't swap, that would be McSuck lol.
Bought a Brat recently that was used for a Gambler 500 Rally - they did some great prep work for that. New clutch, 6-lug axles, New 15" tires, new brakes, valve adjust, weber carb - she's been really toughened up! I'm going to smooth out the rough edges now and give her a whole 'nother life.
