  2. Thanks. Appreciate the response and made a note of your eBay handle for future reference. I'll follow your testing suggestions. Would the alternator issue also effect the car not firing when starter fluid was applied?
  3. Hello everyone. I have a 1979 Subaru DL that was sitting for an extended period. Cranks, no start condition. A shot of starter fluid makes no difference. So, it would appear there's no spark. I also don't hear the fuel pump run when I turn the key to on (not sure how audible it should be). I checked the fuses by the driver door. One is marked Ign/Fuel. Swapped it with another, no change. Is there a relay that powers both the fuel pump and the ignition circuit? Where would you do from here? All the other electrical items seem to work (headlights, turn signals, blower motor, etc.) I don't have anyone who can help me troubleshoot where the car is parked, so anything I try I'll have to do solo. Appreciate any help.
