My Legacy AWD tranny has officially Shait!, it will only go in reverse. tha only Junk yard cars I can find are FWD, is this a doable swap? or is it the same tranny but the addition on the transfer case makes it an AWD. I really need to get this car back on the road, and am willing to give up the AWD if going with a FWD tranny will work. Thanks for your help. Chris

The gear indicator lights work and match up to my shifter location, but I'll check the linkage. Thanks, Chris

driving this morning, no faster than 30mph, and my trans locks up.. with a series of lound bangs. i try shifting to neutral to push it, and neutral is now reverse! so what do you think? All fluid levels are fine.. in park, i get park, in R I get reverse, in N I get reverse, in D 3 2 1 I get nothing, wil not move with the eingine running , no with the engine off it will roll. Any ideas beyond the tranny is SHOT? Thanks Chris

1992 Legacy L Wagon AWD 118000 mi Yesterday, after I backed up (at a rather high rate of speed) I shifted back to drive, I was stuck in 3rd gear. It remains that way now, If I shift into 1, the car will barely move, shift into second, and I can get up to speed, but still, in third gear, no matter where I shift, or how fast I go, it stays in 3rd. fluid level is good, fluid not burnt. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Chris
