  1. Well, it wasn't the valve. Now they say it's the fuel injector. We'll see... Any other sugesstions ???
  2. I bought my subaru (2.5 engine aoutomatic) with 67000 miles on it. Everthing was running smoothly till first day of cold weather last fall. The check engine light went on. Code : misfire cylinder #4. I took it to my mechanic, he checked it and said there was nothing wrong with #4 and reset the light. After few days light was back on. Went back to the guy - he changed spark plugs and said that it possibly might be a wiring problem. Next time when light went on I took it to the subaru service. They told me they received two codes : misfire #4 and catalyc converter. We've changed the converter. Few days later I was back at the service with light back on (misfire#4). Guy told me he has to run a test and then later that he thinks its carbon bulidup or valve guides are not align. That ment they would have to open the engine and cost of a rapair would be round 2500$. Well I hasitated. However it started to get warm again and the check engine light went off??? Then a cold day back on. Coincidence? I do not know... I've tried to clean the engine with fuel additive. Did not help. Then I took it to another subaru service and they changed coil. Did not help. Light is back on with the same code... Just like to ask for some sugesstions. Is it possible that this car with only 82000 miles on it right now has that serious of a problem? Please help. Thank you. Reply to post below: The car is running great. No loss of power nor any other problems I could notice while driving... Just a slight ringing noise while engine is working in neutral gear, but all the service people say it's normal...
