  1. No other issues yet, haven't driven it yet because there is 10 inches of snow outside and the car is on summer tires :/
  2. Ok, so I put a wire between the ignitor and the coil to replace the blue wire and the car fired right up on all four cylinders. Thanks for all the help guys! Tomorrow I will find where the blue wire is broken and fix it.
  3. Update: I did some tests around the coil, igniter and the wiring. And when checking continuity, I had connection from the coil to the igniter with the red wire and the yellow wire, so all checks out there. However the blue wire going from the coil to the igniter had no connection what so ever. So before I start tearing down the wiring harness, I want someone to confirm thats not how it's supposed to be, right? The test was done when the car was off, with no key in the ignition. Hope my description was understandable Picture below is the plug for the igniter, I forgot to take a picture of the plug for the coil.
  4. Bought it like it is now, I trust the seller though. He hadn't driven it for 2 years because he had kids and didn't have time to use it.
  5. Tomorrow I'm going to try unplugging the MAF and testing the coil and all the spark related stuff. The car is mapped making 350hp, I don't know whats been done to the car, other than the previous owner telling me the horsepower number.
  6. Okay, I dont think I tried running it without the MAF. I don't think it could be a physical fault, because it does not have any spark on two of the cylinders.
  7. Car came with a brand new MAF which I tried and made no difference from the one that was already on it.
  8. Okay, so I checked the timing today and it looks like its skipped a tooth, but only on one side. See picture below. Could this cause the no spark on two cylinders? And can anyone confirm that it is out of timing?
  9. Doing this on monday when I get my multimeter in the mail, thanks!
  10. Update: I bought the igniter and the TPS, i got them both in the mail today and tried changing the igniter, still no difference. Any thoughts? Havent changed the TPS yet, but that couldnt be the reason for the misfire, right? Could both the coilpacks I've tried be bad?
  11. Yes. Could the piece saying Diamond on it be the ignitor?
  12. Thanks for the suggestions guys, going to check the plug wires and spark plugs this weekend. Will update the thread when I've checked them.
  13. Hey, i recently picked up my first Subaru, its a Subaru Impreza WRX STI V-Limited 555 1997. When I picked it up, it had been sitting for almost 2 years. When running, I hear a misfire and it smells of gas. When the engine is running, I can pull the back two coil wires from the coilpack and it has no effect on the engine. When I pull either front ones, the car eventually dies. Is this a common problem? Car has only done 50000km (Japan import). I've changed the coilpack, but the problem is still the same. I also have a code for TPS and O2 sensor if thats relevant.
