Turbone, Thanks. The beeping is the same as when you change settings on the computer/clock, momentary and at the same instant that the display changes. The alternator did just die and was replaced but the flashing/beeping continues. Today I pulled the cluster and looked at as much as I could (without schematics). Tomorrow I will put it all back together and see. Everything looked healthy. No evidence of heat or weak/cold solder joints. Thanks again, RW...

I have an erratic readout of the fuel and temperature indicators on my '84 GL. Every few moments the dash beeps and the readings change drasticly. I heard somewhere that there is a resistor in the dash that is common to both of these functions and can get flaky. I have tried to find such an item but without luck. Any help will be appreciated.
