Have VSS from Small Car Performance, I will check the knock sensor. Haven't been able drive it long enough to get any codes, any other ideas are very welcome.

I have the same thing sand rail with 1995 Legacy 2.2 at 3500 rpm it goes into stutter or limp and more the load the sooner it comes in. Other than that it idle good and run OK. Is there anyway to circumvent the limp modes. I have lots of prints let me know I'll send them sbornhorst1@comcast.net

I have an 1995 Legacy 2.2 ECU wiring diagram if it will help I will send it to you let me know sbornhorst1@comcast.net All so has the vanagon wiring hookups.

Take the console out and there is a small lever attached to the shift lever linkage just release it and put it neutral

1995 ECU only works with 1995 cars.

The last tab closest to the small end of the locking lever, push down it has a small ledge to hold the lever in locked position.

1995 2.2 Subaru Legacy engine has transplanted in a VW sand car, I have the 2.2 engine running with the stock ECU although with all the car gone but the engine it is in a limp mode at 3400 + RPM If there is anybody that knows how to circumvent all the limp modes. $$ the ECU is AB414 5602 / It has the gray plug. It idles good and runs good until limp mode. If anybody can help $$ will be appreciated very much.
