  1. Subaru Outback 2004 whining noise differential

    Clicking when stopped and I select either front or rear gear. I removed front left wheel and moved shaft, noise is coming from inside differential housing. Oil is perfect in color and capacity, no licking anywhere. But now I get a whining noise louder everyday from differential housing, it’s not wheel bearing, definitely housing. Oil has been service twice in 60.000kms and I use Mobilube 75W90.

    My 4AT automatic outback has just started to make some ckliking noise when selecting gears from neutral and last week a noticeable whining noise coming from front housing. Have tried search on the forum but don’t find any threat on the matter, does someone know what maybe and solution? thanks for any help
