i have started to notice that the dual range shifter is making some kind of small chirping noise when im accelerating if i force the shifter down and hold it in 4wd it stops but when i take my hand off it keeps going vehicle 1986 subaru gl wagon dual range 4wd

hi im usually a vw guy but i thought id try my hand at a classic Subaru so i bought one that has been sitting for 20+ years. i just got it running but i would like to remove the fuel tank and clean it are there any tricks i should be aware of? ps its a 2bbl carb car idk what size the engine is but im sure that doesn't matter for fuel tank removal its a dual range if that makes a difference

i need some wiring stuff i need a headlight switch and both plugs for it and i need the wiper motor plug that goes into the dash
