  1. Well, it was a thought.
  2. I posted this on another board and found this one, so I'll give it a shot over here too. Great to see XT'ers still out here. I have an 88 XT6 that we just love. Unfortunately, a year ago the engine blew with 250,000 miles on it. I think I got my money's worth out of it. It sounds like the crank broke in two pieces, or it lost a connecting rod. I haven't pulled it out yet, it just sits. My wife was the last to drive it, and thanks to her she wrecked my trusty old pickup truck with a new engine and tranny. In my twisted mind I'm thinking of cramming the 351 into the the XT, making it an XT351. I wouldn't be able to use the AWD, it would be a RWD, but damn would it be fun. The steering would still be powered by the electric pump and other parts would have to be thought through. The 351 is currently fuel injected, but an new intake, carb and scoop would be protruding through the hood. The rearend would be beefed up to handle the power, but retain the stock wheels. Anyone see anything like this before? Any thoughts? I can take a bashing.
