thanks all for the suggestions. finally had to take the radio+player out of the dash. the online service manual was invaluable for removing the front panel and radio. the cd player did not have the ubiquitous "hole" for manual eject. i had to disassemble the player and monkey with the numerous mechanical actuators to coax the cd out. even though i was pretty careful, i dont think the player is fit for continued use. so, im probably going to rig a preamp with an audio plug for my mp3 player. -ric_sub

95 legacy LSi wagon w/ oem radio+tape+panasonic P512 cd player (as printed on faceplate). player sucked in the cd and died. player shows no sign of life. 1 - is there a manual means to eject disc without taking cd player out of dash? 2 - after removing player, does anyone know if there is a manual means to eject the cd? 3 - is this a mechanical or electrical issue? (my bet is mechanical). fyi - player is trayless, ie, cd slides in. player had been acting up mechanically. thanks ric
