I have a 96 Subaru Legacy Wgn with 140000 mile on it. Finally the light stayed on long enough for me to get a reading at a local station and it was the knock sensor. Apparently a common problem with Subies. Unfortunately where I live in CT they flunk you at emissions if the light is on.

I'll try the FWD fuse(did you mean pull it out or is it put it in. I have AWD auto trans). Would you know if this would be under $1000 to fix, or over? Thanks again.

I have a 1996 Legacy Wagon AWD with 140,000. I have had this problem since about 40000. The buking(which seems to be in the front wheels only) only occurs when I corner at low speeds, so I lived with it. I'm thinking of repairing it. Would anyone know what I'm in for in cost to have a garage do it? And is it worth it? Thanks.
