  1. Thanks for all of the replies, I am going to check out some mods to the current engine. But, I will still dream of one day, shoe-horning a v-6 into that go-cart-of-a-car. The center of gravity issue could be solved in the suspension(?) and the length of the new engine could force the firewall back a few inches. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM............................... dan, out.
  2. Any thing is possible right? Could a subaru six be "easily" installed in a 98 forester? what would need to be modified? I just want to pull a small trailer and go faster, is that too much to ask? Dan in Milwaukee.
  3. I'll give it a try. Thanks. These are some serious mud and snow tires, I hate to see them just sitting in the garage.
  4. I would like to know if 15" wheels will fit my '98 Forester. (?) My father-in-law has some great mud and snow tires for 15", not 16", wheels. Will thes smaller rims interfere with brakes or steering components? Where do look for these wheels? Anybody................ Thanks, Dan in Milwaukee.
  5. (un)luckily for me, I am a welder and work with stainless steel, so you know what I am going to do. I will wind up making my car weigh much much more with the all new ten gauge stainless heat shrouds.(double wall, of course) I really do appreciate the help.
  6. Thank you for the info your Bigness, most helpful for my "hanging by a thread" heat shields. Could they make them any cheaper?
  7. My 98 Forester is making a similar rattle, 2nd and 3rd seem to really make it happen when down shifting or plugging the engine down a hill. I thought it might be some heat shild or something loose. Can't pinpoint it, only happens while drivig(wife won't hang out the window to help diagnos. No clutch or tranny problems to speak of.
