  1. Hello All- I'm trying to help a friend out with a strange problem with their Outback wagon. From a standing start with the steering wheel turned the car lurches, feels like a 4wd truck on dry pavement with the hubs locked. When starting in a straight line the car feels fine. It feels like the dif is locked, or always engaged. Is this common, or has it happened to anyone? I am not versed in subbies, is the dif electronically controlled? Is there a relay or solenoid we can test? We just flushed the trans and refilled with Amsoil trans fluid. The old trans fluid was a little dark, but the problem is no better or worse after the flush. We also changed the gear oil in the rear dif, no change. FWIW the car is an automatic, wagon. Thanks for any insight!
