    I have an r160 from a 1995 Impreza. I am just bead blasting it, and want to remove the pinion before getting it full of grit. How to the pinion come out? The pinion nut is off. thanks d1

    FYI - it weighs 45 lbs with no inner CVs. Distance from output centre to pinion face is 400mm d1

    I am building a lightweight sports car from scratch (1500lbs) and I am not sure if I want to use a Miata 1.6 rear end or a Subaru R160 rear end. I have some questions and the R160: How much does it weigh? How long is the pinion from the axle centreline to the pinion flange? Can it easily handle 210 ft-lbs of torque? If anybody has other recommendations for a light weight, IRS differential, I would appreciate hearing about it. thanks Don
