Hello from North Bend!! I just bought a 1999 Legacy Outback last week from the Jeep Dealership in Renton (I also had a trade in). Make sure to do your homework, ie: get values from NADA, Kelley Blue Book, Edmunds, etc. Have your print outs with you (for the Subie, AND your trade-in) when you go to negotiate the deal. They will throw numbers at you in so many formats, it can be mind-boggling! It helps to have your figures handy so you can feel more confident in your dealing. I also printed up ads for all other 99 Outbacks from AutoTrader.com that were cheaper than the one I was looking at. Any ammo you can have on your side will help immensely! The Subie I just bought was originally $11,999...I talked them down to $8,500...AND got a great price for my trade-in!! I must have sent the poor sales-guy back to his manager seven times before I was satisfiied. Be diligent...they expect people to haggle!! Good luck, and let us know what happens!
