  1. The syncronizers were really poor in the Justy trannys and the most common reason they stick in gear is that afterm many miles the syncronizers get so deeply grroved the guid pins just jam in the grooves. You can sometimes rotate the gear one tooth and reassemble and the problem is gone. Another reason they lock up is the shifter fork can break off and jam the sliding gear train. Either way the tranny has to be cracked open to fix. Slim
  2. If you want your guts shook out buy the Samuri. I cannot imagine anything more miserable to drive on a 110 mile daily drive! Slim
  3. My daughter has one and they seem to run long and well if you do not have the CVT [auto] transmission and avoid power shifitng with the manual 5 speed. Great mieage and the valve cover oil leak is pretty standard and not serious on those little 3 cylinders after they dry out some. Pretty easy and cheap to fix. The carb problem may just mean that it needs a a can of gumout added to the fuel and a tank of high test ran through it. The carbs tend to gum up with age but it is not major. They are tuff little cars and i would love to find a 4WD model in nice condition. I live in the Mountain state. Slim
  4. My daughter's 1989 Justy which has been upgraded from the CVT tranny to a manual 5 speed [2WD only] just cuts off unpredictably at stoplights or when the idle drops below a certain point. It will just plummet to zero and quit. This problem seemed to start a short time after the engine was pulled to work on the tranny. I beleive all the vacuum lines and hoses are connected OK. If that could be it does anyone have a detailed hose and connection diagram for the engine? But that might not be the problem at all! I have heard of this problem. What could it be? It is unpredictable. Sometimes you can drive for miles with no problem and the next time you drive it may quit every time you prepare to stop or slow down. Any ideas out there? Thanks in Advance, Slim
