  1. Thanks for the info guys. I'm really not an auto kind of guy, but it was a good car, and I thought that it would be nice not having to shift so much around town. Even though the fluid looks ok I a planning on servicing it soon just so I know that it's been done. Is there a regular filter on the valve body, external, or a screen? The car has 125k on it now and seems to shift fine. Mike
  2. Is it a constant ticking, or intermittent? When you hear this is it pretty much done? Mike
  3. What is the usual service life of the 3-speed auto in an '86? Are there many problems? Mike
  4. Just something I read in another post and was wondering what it was. Mike
  5. Hey Guys, My '86 GL auto is making a higher pitched rattle/knock/plastic squeaking sound from what sounds like the engine. It is more noticeable at highway speeds, above ½ throttle. If it starts making the noise and I push he go pedal down father sometimes it goes away, and sometimes it gets a bit louder. I've had the car for a week now, and it came with receipts for a rebuilt engine with new heads, etc. Anyone know what this might be? Thanks, Mike
