Hi Folks,
I'm new here, but I joined because I am at my wit's end concerning the problems I've been having with my 99 Forester L. It started a long time ago, with an oil light - at 42,000 miles, SOA actually replaced my engine (looong story). Then the transmission was rebuilt cuz it kept slipping into neutral while on the hiway in 5th gear - not fun. At 53,000 miles, the distributor thing went (I know it's not technically a distributor, but I forget what it was called - I call it the $400 "Subaru sucks" part). At 63,000 miles, master and slave cylinders needed replacing. The latest - at 102,000 miles, (but only 60,000 miles on the new engine, remember) the head gasket blew. I complained loudly enough to get SOA to pay for the part ~ $400, and I paid for the install ($900).
Any advice about a) getting SOA to pay the rest? or b)acknowledge they have a problem, and issue a recall?
