My 1990 DL wagon is starting to make some strange knocking noises from the rear of the engine block or maybe the start of the gearbox (that general region). I know its not the normal EA82 lifter ticking because I used to have that issue and it was a very distinct sound but this is different. The problem only seems to occur when I start the car and the engine is warm. it goes away after around 200 yards of driving.
