October 20, 200916 yr Do you have a 86 GL-10 SW EA82Turbo 5sp 4x4? If so can you send me a photo of the rotor in the distributor (# 22100 AA221) I have the screw on disty cap but I think the rotor I have installed is wrong, seems "short" and just pushes on without a setscrew. Even a part number for the rotor would be great but a photo would be best! Thanks

Thanks I dont have a picture of one but the hitachi distributor has a cap that is screwed on and the rotor has a hole in the side of it to put a screw into the shaft to hold it in place, that is what your asking right? does your distributor shaft have a small threaded hole in the side near the top. the other type rotor for ND has a flat side and no screw to hold it on.
October 20, 200916 yr Author Yes, the disty shaft does have the setscrew hole but the installed rotor is a pushon type, the tip of the rotor & the cap contacts seem a long way apart (not quite 1/4"). Do you have a part# for the rotor?

Do you have a part# for the rotor? hi, they only show 2 different ones for these cars, as far as i know, just get the other one, and of course you will need that little screw.
October 20, 200916 yr Author Thanks for the help, there is a pre 11/86 and a post 11/86 rotor to choose from, unfortunately I had neither. I had the 85 nonturbo rotor. I found a great place to get parts, http://www.carpartsdiscount.com, it has clear photos of all the different parts. I ordered the right parts today.
October 27, 200916 yr Author The right parts make a world of difference, the "old" rotor was shorter. I must of had quite a light show going on inside the disty with a little spark left over for the plugs. Edited October 27, 200916 yr by quartus
